AmCham Semiconductor Forum
The issue of Taiwan’s safety and the impact of declining cross-Strait relations on its investment environment has been repeatedly raised by many AmCham member companies. Concern has grown ever larger in the months following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Yet a number of positive developments over the past year have increased confidence in Taiwan’s capacity to overcome thorny challenges. First and foremost, the U.S. and Taiwan continue to deepen their relationship, working together to promote global supply chain resiliency and broadening bilateral economic and trade cooperation. AmCham’s 2022 Business Climate Survey found that 91% of member companies are confident about their firms’ growth prospects over the next three years.
This seminar, initiated by AmCham’s recently formed Semiconductor Committee, is intended to help AmCham members understand the current geopolitical dynamic, as well as the political, economic, and defense implications for Taiwan. At the same time, we are creating an opportunity for the Taiwan government to address this critical issue with key stakeholders making business decisions about Taiwan.
