AmCham Public Health Committee Luncheon
國境重啟，台灣的防疫亦邁向新的里程碑，台灣美國商會榮幸邀請到 中央流行疫情指揮中心 專家諮詢小組召集人 張上淳、衛生福利部疾病管制署副署長 羅一鈞出席，與美國商會會員-各產業界領導人及高階經理人，分享防疫的經驗與智慧，並探討公私部門如何協力為下一個全球流行病做更好、更周全的準備。
COVID-19疫情爆發以來，台灣即在政府、企業、以及人民所組成之防疫國家隊努力下，逐步履行阻斷病毒社區散播、提升族群免疫力、減少重症及死亡率、重啟國門等階段性措施，致力在公共衛生、經濟發展、人權保障之間取得平衡。而對私部門而言，這場百年大疫雖然帶來深遠的衝擊與挑戰，卻也催化了各產業的轉型，促使企業重新思考既有的商業模式。美國商會長期以來扮演政府與企業之間的橋樑，亦希望能透過本次產官學互相交流的機會，以全球及本地的視角，共同迎向國境重啟之後更安全、強韌的疫後未來。
Taiwan’s epidemic prevention has reached a new milestone by lifting its Covid-19 entry restrictions and reopening its borders. It is AmCham Taiwan’s great honor to invite Dr. Shan-Chwen Chang, Chairman of the CECC Expert Consultation Committee, and Mr. Yi-Chun Lo, Deputy Director-General of Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare to share their experience and wisdom on pandemic control and discuss how both public and private sectors can work better in preparation for the next global epidemic.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has led the government, companies, and the public to combat the pandemic with various measures and approaches, embedding the concepts of prudent action, rapid response, and early deployment into the epidemic prevention system. By blocking the spread of the virus in the community, enhancing herd immunity, and reducing severe illness and mortality, Taiwan has strived to strike a balance between public health, economic development, and human rights. Though this pandemic has brought significant impacts and challenges, it has also catalyzed the transformation of various industries, and prompted companies to rethink their existing business models. AmCham has long acted as a bridge between the government and enterprises. We hope to take this opportunity to jointly embrace a safer and more resilient post-pandemic future, learning from both global and local examples.
