With the rapid growth of technology, innovation and digitalization, companies and their workforce need to learn new skills and adopt to new software and hardware.
According to LinkedIn, some of the most in demand soft skills are adaptability, collaboration (team working and communication), and creativity. What kind of training can provide your company with all of these essential skills? The answer is through the newly developed Indoor Curling exercise.
Curling, it’s a gentleman’s sport which started in the early 16th century. It is a sport that requires team work, communication, leadership, and creativity. Several years ago, a Hong Kong professor saw the educational benefit in Curling, and with some creativity and ingenuity, he converted the game (which is usually played on ice) and now it can be played anywhere indoor. It is not limited to age or physical ability, anyone of any age group can play it, anytime. The experiences, bonding and lessons you gain through playing the game is invaluable.
This 2 hour workshop will provide you a fun, unique, interesting way to enhance your skills in leadership, adaptability, collaboration (team working and communication), and creativity.
Workshop outline:
- First hour
1. Learn the rules of the game
2. Practice - Second hour
1. Divide into teams and learn the basic strategy of of the game
2. Competition between teams
(During the workshop, we will explain the different analogies and lessons that you can apply in your work place)
Preparation: Wear a pair of clean socks
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Mr. Gary Wong
Training Director of Charter Global
He graduated from RMIT University Australia, and Master of Knowledge Management at Polytechnic University Hong Kong. He is a registered Personality Dimensions®️ Level 1 instructor and event instructor with the “Challenge Course Association of Hong Kong/China”. He has designed and facilitated experiential training and educational programs in Hong Kong for over 10 years.
Gary Wong has been working in sizeable commercial companies and NGO as a trainer. Some of the companies that he has worked with includes: the Swire Group, China Construction Bank, Kerry Properties, Crown hotel, Hong Kong Metro (HK MTR), Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company, and different universities.
Academic background and professional qualifications:
– Master of Knowledge Management (The Hong Kong Polytechic University)
– BA Human Resource Management (Rmit University)
– Registered Personal dimension level 1 trainer
