How to Create and Maintain Trust When Interacting Online

AmCham Advanced Learning Lab Seminar

If you work in a multinational organization, then most likely many of your mission-critical interactions with your regional and global bosses and colleagues are now all taking place online—such as business updates, contingency planning, plans for new product launches, and so on.

Did you know that many of our virtual interactions tend to gradually erode the trust that we have built up in person, through face-to-face interactions? Research shows that moving our face-to-face interactions online are gradually amplifying interpersonal issues, making resolving the issues more difficult, and delaying decision-making. That means, as long as we are interacting online, some of those problems will remain and fester.

So, what can we do to minimize their impact until the pandemic is over and we can return to interacting normally?  That’s what this online seminar will discuss with you and share some of the best practices that are emerging. The speaker will role model the behavior and skills we need to engage, influence, and build trust online.

Agenda

  1. Network with other AmCham members from 8:45 am to 9:00 am
  2. Share online interaction experience with other AmCham members: both issues and benefits
  3. Learn about what is needed to prevent rapid erosion of trust in online interactions
  4. Link to additional resources and support
