Event Overview:

AIT and AmCham both recognize DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility) is essential to creating a stronger, more resilient and globally competitive workforce. As such, we plan to launch the first AIT-AmCham public-private partnership with a focus on our collective efforts on DEIA in 2024.

The AmCham Taiwan’s 2024 DEIA Celebration Forum aims to not only promote the principles of DEIA, but more importantly to create a platform for businesses to co-learn with governments through partnerships and best practices sharing. The DEIA Celebration Forum is also a celebratory reflection of both the U.S. and Taiwan in their respective DEIA enforcement. An Executive Order signed by President Biden and enacted in 2021 requires all U.S. federal agencies must remove barriers to equal opportunity and provide resources and opportunities to strengthen and advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Taiwan, similarly, a regional leader in human rights, freedom, and equality, is ranked number one in Asia and fourteenth globally in the Human Freedom Index, and the first place in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage.

This forum will invite prominent business and government leaders from the U.S. and Taiwan to share their experiences and vision of DEIA to the AmCham members in the following five priority topics:

  • Women in Tech
  • Connecting Generations
  • Unconscious Bias
  • Digital Inclusion
  • Accessibility
