AmCham 2025 Cancer Summit:
Advancing Innovation Toward National Goals to Strengthen Comprehensive Cancer Care

Date: July 28th, 2025 (Monday)

Time: 13:00 – 17:00

Venue: 3F Grand Ballroom A+B, Regent Hotel Taipei

Organizers: American Institute in Taiwan, AmCham Taiwan

Event Overview:

AmCham Taiwan and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) are co-hosting the 2025 Cancer Summit, bringing together government officials, industry leaders, academia, and patient groups to drive cancer treatment innovation, enhance patient care, promote international collaboration, and implement concrete policy actions to build a more comprehensive cancer healthcare ecosystem.

This summit reflects President Lai’s vision to reshape Taiwan’s cancer care landscape through the establishment of a Billion-dollar Cancer New Drugs Fund. With a longstanding focus on cancer-related issues, President Lai aims to reduce Taiwan’s cancer mortality rate by one-third by 2030 through increased investment in innovative drugs and advanced treatments—ushering in a new era of hope in the fight against cancer.

The Forum will focus on implementing a continuity-of-care strategy that emphasizes early detection and treatment. It will align Taiwan’s cancer care with international clinical guidelines, NHI reimbursement policies, and national priorities—advancing the quality of cancer care to meet developed-country benchmarks.

In addition, the Summit will explore how to maximize the impact of the Cancer Drugs Fund (CDF) by prioritizing sustainability, improving access to innovative treatments, and rethinking the design of Taiwan’s healthcare reimbursement framework to strengthen system resilience and equity.

AmCham Taiwan hopes to see Taiwan remain at the forefront of cancer research and patient care. By deepening collaboration with like-minded nations, we aim to drive breakthrough innovations in treatment.

We sincerely invite leaders from all sectors, government officials, medical experts, scholars, and patient advocates to join us in this impactful summit—where together, we aim to end cancer as we know it.

(The forum will be held in Mandarin, with simultaneous interpretation provided from Mandarin to English.)
