AmCham Advanced Learning Lab Seminar
Economists are predicting that “generative AI could expose the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs to automation.” Most of these jobs will be office work in advanced and developed economies like Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Job automation is nothing new, especially in Taiwan. However, what is different is the type of jobs that will become automated as a result of generative AI. They will be mostly cognitive work—work performed by people in sales, marketing, finance, legal and compliance, training, HR, and administrative departments.
That means, as an individual working in a large multinational company, what roadmap do you need to guide yourself to a safe place from the tsunami of changes heading our way?
Using the latest research, case studies, experience-sharing, and conversation with other AmCham members, this seminar will discuss the following questions:
<Seminar Outline>
1. Which office jobs in multinationals will most likely be taken over by generative AI?
2. Which new jobs will open up as a result of generative AI?
3. Which existing jobs will most likely remain safe from generative AI—at least for now?
4. Which existing jobs will become even more valuable because of generative AI?
5. What do you need to do to minimize generative AI’s harmful impact on your career?
