AmCham Committees
The foundation of AmCham Taiwan’s advocacy platform
Much of AmCham Taiwan’s impact is achieved through its committees, which serve as the driving force behind many of the Chamber’s successes in advocating for a stronger business environment. AmCham currently has 23 committees that represent and promote the interests of their respective sectors.
Most committees focus on specific industries, while others take a cross-sectoral approach, addressing functions and areas of expertise such as human resources, taxation, and intellectual property.
Each year, every committee prepares a Priority Issues Paper for inclusion in the Chamber’s annual Taiwan White Paper, which presents recommendations for improving Taiwan’s business climate and serves as a key reference for dialogue with government agencies and regulators. Following its release, committees engage in follow-up meetings with relevant government officials to advance their proposals. In addition, they organize informational programs and networking opportunities for their members and the broader AmCham community.
In May 2022, the AmCham Taiwan Board of Governors adopted Committee Guidelines to provide a set of principles ensuring that committee activities are effective, impactful, and aligned with the Chamber’s norms and values.
