AmChams of Asia Pacific – 2022 Virtual Door Knock Series – The IPEF, Trade, and ASEAN

AmChams of Asia Pacific (AAP) will host its fourth of its Virtual Door Knock Series on May 31, at 9AM (SIN) with a focus on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework, Trade and ASEAN.

Ambassador Ashok Mirpuri, Singapore Ambassador to the U.S., will provide his view on the U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit and the evolving engagement between the United States and the region, especially as it related to the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).

Dr. Deborah Elms, Founder and Executive Director, Asian Trade Centre, will provide her insights on how the IPEF will be incorporated into the existing regional trade architecture.

Ambassador Rufus Yerxa, former Deputy USTR, will provide the context of how the IPEF will compare to existing US trade agreements.

AmChams of Asia Pacific – 2022 Business Summit

The AmChams of Asia Pacific will hold its 2022 Business Summit in Hanoi on May 20. The summit is an annual event hosted by a different AmCham each year from around the region and offers a valuable opportunity to discuss the main issues facing American business in the region, along with an in-depth examination of specific industry issues of critical importance to AmCham members. We hope you and your members will join us for an in-person conversation featuring keynote remarks from senior U.S. government officials and panel discussions with private sector executives and industry-focused thought leaders on topics such as shifting from pandemic to endemic, regional economic recovery, and the United States’ Asia engagement and its implications for American business.

The delegate fee will be approximately $400 and will include everything except airfare and hotel. Vietnam’s borders have re-opened, and arrival and visa procedures will be as they were pre-pandemic. Hotel rates in Hanoi will be $120-200 per night depending on choice. Hotel in Hue will be around $80-100 per night. The domestic flight from Hanoi to Hue will be around $90.

2020 AGM Election Results

AmCham thanks its members for attending the Annual General Meeting and helping us to meet the quorum. We are pleased to announce the results of the 2020 Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel.
