What is the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan?
AmCham Taiwan is a non-profit, non-partisan business organization. AmCham promotes Taiwan’s continued development of international business standards in the areas of legislation, regulations, and enforcement. The American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan is not affiliated with the U.S. government. It is associated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (headquartered in Washington, D.C.).
Who can join?
AmCham is open to all international business people–corporate, executives, entrepreneurs, and government representatives–who agree with the objectives and values of AmCham Taiwan. American citizenship is not a requirement, and members are not required to reside in Taiwan.
How do I become a member of AmCham?
Complete the membership application form and return it with a check or credit card number for the initiation fee and annual dues. Detailed instructions here.
How do I pay for membership dues, event participation and monthly billing?

How long does the application process take?
After the AmCham Membership Department receives the application form and appropriate backup documents, they are submitted to the Board of Governors for final approval. The Board meets the second Tuesday each month, so the complete process is always completed within four weeks, usually sooner.
Is there an affiliation among the American Chambers of Commerce globally and in the region?
AmCham Taiwan pays annual dues to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and shares information directly with the organization on business and commercial issues. AmCham Taiwan is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC), which twice a year brings together 21 American Chambers in the region to discuss policy and operational issues. AmCham Taiwan also participates in an informal Greater China group of chambers, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong-based chambers. For more details, please refer to “AmCham Plus.”
What are some of the benefits of AmCham membership?
Networking: More than 200 business and social events for networking with leaders in government and commerce. These include monthly luncheons, committee meetings, workshops, seminars, and special access meetings.
Information: Timely information on industry changes and vital business information through its monthly magazine (Taiwan Business TOPICS), presentations and workshops, website, emailed and faxed reports.
Advocacy: Annual Taiwan White Paper, Business Climate Survey, and access meetings with government officials through committees, special leadership functions, and lobbying visits.
