AmCham Taiwan Committees Meet with FSC to Support Taiwan’s Vision as an Asset Management Hub
Taipei, Taiwan — The American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan’s Banking, Asset Management, Insurance, Capital Markets, and Private Equity Committees recently met with the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) to engage in dialogue on financial oversight and market growth.
During the meeting, AmCham congratulated the FSC on the significant progress made in advancing Taiwan’s financial sector. The Chamber commended the government’s continued efforts to position Taiwan as a leading asset management hub in Asia. The pilot program for the Asia Asset Management Center Project in Kaohsiung – encompassing banking, securities, asset management, insurance, and family office services – demonstrates the authorities’ strong commitment to building a globally competitive wealth management environment.
Discussions also centered around the FSC’s “Two-Year Impact” initiative, which aims to implement 54 regulatory and business liberalization measures within two years and increase total assets under management by NT$4 trillion. AmCham expressed support for the initiative and encouraged the continued participation of international financial institutions to attract foreign capital, enhance transparency, foster talent and innovation, and further align Taiwan with global standards.
The Chamber extended its appreciation to the FSC for its openness and willingness to engage in constructive dialogue over the past year. As Taiwan moves toward its longer-term objectives of “Four-Year Transformation” and “Six-Year Achievement,” AmCham looks forward to deepening collaboration with regulators to accelerate the development of the local asset management industry. With sustained public-private cooperation, Taiwan is well-positioned to boost market dynamism, expand its global financial footprint, and deliver long-term value to both the economy and investors.
