We’re Hiring: Government and Public Affairs Manager
The American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (AmCham Taiwan) is looking to hire a Government and Public Affairs Manager. As the Government and Public Affairs Manager at AmCham, you’ll collaborate with our diverse member network, engage with trade offices and government agencies, and drive advocacy initiatives that promote Taiwan’s vibrant business environment.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in financial services or public administration, exceptional bilingual communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Works under the direction of the Senior Manager (or Director, as assigned) for Government and Public Affairs. Ensure smooth and productive operations of assigned AmCham Taiwan sectoral or thematic committees. Support committee program execution, networking, and capacity building activities to build consistent and effective engagement.
- Assists in the preparation and follow-up advocacy to the annual White Paper. Conduct occasional research and generate actionable alerts or short reports on legislative, regulatory or enforcement measures impacting domestic commerce that impacts international companies in Taiwan. This includes covering both Taipei- and Washington-directed policy and market access agendas, as prioritized by committee leadership.
- Facilitate meetings arrangements with government agencies and inbound delegations for Chamber members. Manage the invitation of official contacts to Chamber advocacy and networking events.
- Process official gazette (‘gongwen’) and facilitate information sharing in support of relevant members/committees. Manages day-to-day operations and duties as assigned.
- Support Director in developing and maintaining Chamber staff crisis response and continuity of operations plans.
Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience
- Master’s degree and/or above
- 5+ years’ working experience in Financial Services and/or relevant government agencies
- Core duties include cross-translation and editing of government documents. Native Mandarin literacy is a must.
