We’re Hiring: Committee Manager, Government & Public Affairs
As the Committee Manager of Government & Public Affairs at AmCham, you will work collaboratively with team members and committee co-chairs to inform, promote, and advocate policies for the healthcare sector. You will also work with trade offices and government agencies to deepen bilateral exchanges and address market access for the healthcare sector to ensure development of long-term relationships.
Roles and responsibilities
- Map out and maintain a wide network of productive connections with the Taiwanese authorities (particularly MOHW and NHIA), key research institutes, experts, and industry. Attend conferences, seminars, and networking events to build connections.
- Identify, prioritize, and pursue new cooperation opportunities in healthcare policy: Work closely with committee co-chairs to ensure we understand US priorities and are positioned to deliver on them. Staff will report to the Director of Government and Public Affairs and work collaboratively with others in the team.
- Promote and advocate for US strengths in the healthcare sector, including policy and regulatory leadership – e.g. on Digital Healthcare Initiatives. Work with the AmCham GA team to promote relevant international policy and innovation developments and initiatives to decision-makers in government.
- Deliver key policy workstreams: You will lead on delivering our regular committee meeting and annual events, working with AIT and Taiwan’s MOHW to identify topics of mutual interest and high-profile outcomes to further deepen collaboration. You will work on deepening bilateral exchanges on medical device standards as well as address market access issues for the healthcare sector.
- Provide timely reporting on key policy developments and emerging trends in Taiwan. Help the Taiwanese government to understand the value of AmCham committees and foreign investment through analyzing our community’s connections to regional and global markets, and impact on the market.
Objectives
- Represent AmCham’s diverse membership on issues of common interest.
- Provide a forum for networking and access to information.
- Promote the Chamber’s core values.
Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience
- Familiarity with Taiwan’s healthcare ecosystem, government funding institutions, industry associations, mechanisms, and key agencies
- Experience of analyzing tech trends and developments, gained for example in the media, government, academia, or the private sector.
- An existing network of relevant contacts in Taiwan, such as government, the private sector, and academia.
