Dan Silver of Boston Scientific Elected 2024 AmCham Taiwan Chairperson

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Dan Silver, General Manager at Boston Scientific in Taiwan, has been elected as the 2024 Chairperson of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan. He will begin his one-year term on January 1, 2024.

Silver was AmCham’s Chairperson in 2016 and has also previously served as Vice Chairperson, co-Chair of the Chamber’s Medical Devices Committee, and founding Co-Chair of the Public Health Committee. He is a founding director of the Taiwan Advanced Medical Technology Association (TAMTA). Silver helped coordinate several events related to Regulatory Coherence and Good Regulatory Practice in Taiwan, including the 2014 Regulatory Coherence Policy Framework (RCPF) engaging with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT).

“The upcoming year brings fresh prospects, and the spotlight on Taiwan from the U.S. has never been brighter,” says Silver. “By embracing a forward-looking strategy that taps into the expertise and innovative thinking of Chamber members, we will aim to strategically position the business landscape and fortify trade ties between the U.S. and Taiwan.”

Silver holds a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and a master’s degree from Harvard University. He grew up in Maryland, United States, and moved to Taiwan with his wife and two sons in 2009.
