Vincent Shih of Microsoft Elected 2022 AmCham Taiwan Chairperson

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Vincent Shih, Assistant General Counsel of Microsoft and GM of Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs of Microsoft Taiwan, was elected as the 2022 chairperson of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan. He will begin his term on January 1, 2022.

Shih was AmCham’s vice chairperson in 2017, Secretary in 2016, governor in 2015, and supervisor in 2014. He has served as Co-chair of the Intellectual Property & Licensing Committee at the Chamber, and participated in or actively supported numerous Washington Doorknock and other government advocacy meetings.

Following his election as chairperson, Mr. Shih nominated – and the 11-member Board of Governors approved – the following Standing Officers for the coming year:

• Standing Vice Chair – Tim Shields, General Manager & CEO of Cigna Taiwan Life Assurance Company. (Re-appointed)
• Vice Chair – Andrea Wu, Principal of Agility Strategic Consulting. (Newly appointed)
• Treasurer – Terry Tsao, Global Chief Marketing Officer and President of Taiwan at SEMI. (Re-appointed)
• Secretary – Cynthia Chyn, Head of Public Policy, Taiwan and Hong Kong of Amazon Web Services. (Re-appointed)

The 2022 Board of Governors also includes:                                                                                                                                   

• Cindy Chen, Regional Head of Adecco Taiwan & S. Korea/Spring Professional Taiwan.
• Shelley Chia, Partner, Leader of Global Capital Markets Group and Chief of Staff to CEO in Deloitte Touche

• John Lee, Managing Director of Merck Group in Taiwan of Merck Ltd. Taiwan
• Paulus Mok, Citi Country Officer of Citigroup & Chairman of Citibank Taiwan.
• Steven Pan, Chairman of the Silks Hotel Group/Regent Taipei

The Supervisors are:

• Jeffrey Wang, Regional Manager of Cisco Systems Taiwan.

Chin, who is Managing Director for Corporate Development and Public Affairs at Applied Materials, has rendered outstanding service to the Chamber, steering the organization through a challenging global business environment and a momentous time in the U.S.-Taiwan relationship.
